Education is FOUNDATION like that of a building. What you construct above depends on interest, likes and opportunities. A graduate in engineering, management, medical, law or literature may opt to become Administrator (IAS. IPS etc.), Actor, Artist, Buisnessman, Politician, Poet, Writer, Musician, Monk, Social Worker or a vetern in the Armed Forces.

Career is what we perform, not what we study. Engineers take to marketing FMCG items, setup tea stalls, restaurants, coaching, consultancy; switch to finance, insurance, banking or teaching. 

Exposure in family, school, society and media; besides individual strengths (S), weaknesses (W) and a role model in early childhood decides what Career we choose. 

Therefore, mad rush for certain streams and coaching for medical and engineering in schools, should be avoided till there is enough exposure to all possible options to the parents and children.
